Opportunity to work directly with Chief Marketing Officer of a global bottled water company

This is a genuine opportunity for a real marketing experience that will provide learning and skills for career development. Responsibilities will provide a full spectrum of Assistant Brand Management experiences including entry level grunt work to higher level analysis, thinking and execution. The CMO is a hands on executive who values energy, talent, creativity, and the will to work hard. This person will be exposed to all levels of brand marketing, included in meetings with other company personnel. The goal is to quickly acquire the skill and confidence to lead specific projects.

The CMO seeks a person who is on a path to receiving an under graduate marketing degree with one year to graduation or a recent graduate. Applicants should be prepared to share grade average and present a letter of recommendation from two professors and the previous summer’s employer.

This position requires a full 3 month commitment from May 15-August 15. Individuals with “thin skin” and a desire to only work 40 hours per week need not apply.

Operation Inspire: Connecting NYC Public H.S. Students & Educators to the Advertising & Marketing Fields

Operation Inspire is a day dedicated to connecting with, informing and exciting a broad range of high school students from all cultural backgrounds and their educators about the opportunities and rewards available from a career in advertising and marketing. The TORCH Program, along with the Art Directors Club, Stillwell & Partners, Virtual Enterprises, VCU Brandcenter, NYC Department of Education and the School of Visual Arts, will be facilitating this inspirational one day workshop during Advertising Week, on October 3rd, 2011.

The event will feature industry professionals from all aspects of the visual communications industry discussing the myriad career opportunities in the field. A cocktail reception and raffle will conclude the evening. We are excited to be able to offer several prizes to attending educators, including cash awards and Adobe creative software, to benefit city schools and their programs.

This event for educators will follow on the heels of an earlier session for students. During this session they will hear from leading creatives in advertising and graphic design and get to participate in a career development workshop to learn (or reinforce) the skills necessary to applying to college and jobs. Lunch will be provided for.

The Marcus Graham Project Boot Camp Application Deadline Extended

The Marcus Graham Project is offering spots for their iCR8 summer boot camp program! This program is designed to help you enhance your skills and experience within the advertising, PR and marketing fields. The program will consist of relevant topical case studies, projects and the development of marketing/media concepts in response to selected topics. I have included all the details below.

The application deadline has been officially extended for The Marcus Graham Project summer boot camp program. The new deadline has been extended to Friday January 14, 2011. Please encourage those interested in advancing their careers in the advertising, marketing and media industries to apply IMMEDIATELY and use their holiday break wisely.

We will also host a Q&A about the boot camp on our radio show, “The Drum” on January 9th. Mark your calendar and also learn more about one of the boot camp assignments, developing an iPad app for John Legend’s non-profit, The Show Me Campaign.

Qualifications

Candidates must posses a general knowledge of marketing, as well as exhibit creative spirit and strong communication/organizational skills. The type of participants that we are looking for include: social media, marketing, graphic design, copywriting, creative technology, video/audio production, video editing, events/promotions, research, and public relations. You must be willing to learn an extreme amount of valuable information in a short period of time.

Ideal candidates should seek to build resume experience, while gaining invaluable networking and knowledge about the industry.
