Time Out New York stands out as the most comprehensive arts and entertainment resource in a city overflowing with cultural offerings and around-the-clock options. Authoritative listings, engaging features and critical reviews make Time Out New York a trusted “bible” for young, active New Yorkers, who don’t merely read the magazine, but use it. Sometimes irreverent but always intelligent, Time Out New York‘s passionate coverage of music, film, theater, dance, shopping, dining (and much, much more) fosters a loyal readership of New York consumers who are in-the-know and on-the-go.
The Time Out New York internship program provides interns with real world experience and will prepare them for careers in several areas of the publishing industry. Our aim is to provide current students, college graduates and candidates looking to get into the publishing industry with an opportunity to apply coursework learned in the classroom. As an intern, you will be involved in the daily process for your department geared towards weekly publication. You will also be exposed to a variety of duties, get hands-on experience and increased knowledge of the industry.
TONY fosters an environment conducive to growth and development. Some interns eventually assume full-time, part-time and freelance positions at TONY on account of stellar performance during their internship.
Our internships require a commitment of 2-3 days per week, for credit or non-credit. TONY looks for candidates with a strong commitment to a career in publishing made evident through previous internships, chosen area of study, or extra-curricular involvement. TONY thrives on intelligence, responsibility and maturity in all personnel and we expect the same of our interns.
