Regional Account Director Position

Ogilvy Central Team member based in the regions, working on American Express’ International business, reporting into 360 lead at Ogilvy in London.
The role is to work with the Ogilvy local markets to seamlessly deliver outstanding campaigns.
Will work very closely with Regional GABM at Amex.

Relationship Management
• Managing, and servicing, the respective Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) regional client relationship:
o New York for LACC
o London for EMEA
o Singapore or Hong Kong for JAPA

• Participating, together with the respective GABM regional client, on:
o Weekly 360 Central Inter Agency Team (IAT) meeting held in London via conference call
o Weekly 360 Local Market’s IAT meetings via conference call
o Relevant ad hoc day to day meetings and calls

• Communicating closely and regularly with the London based Central Ogilvy Team:
o Briefing session in London at the outset
o Quarterly trips to London thereafter to meet with Ogilvy, and Amex clients
o Ongoing conference calls and emails

• Developing strong working relationships with the local Ogilvy offices in the core markets in each region:
o LACC – primarily Canada, Mexico, Argentina
o EMEA – primarily UK, Italy
o JAPA – primarily Australia, Japan, Hong Kong
Core Responsibilities
• Co-ordinating and managing the delivery of all the ATL campaigns (online and offline) for all the active markets across the respective region, covering all ATL creative work for:
o Brand
o Products
o Co-brands
o Small Business Services (Canada & Australia only)

• Working closely with, and supporting local Ogilvy offices, on:
o Messaging needs
o Assets selection
o Transcreation or translation of assets (as appropriate)
o Copy rotations
o Implementation to the approved channel plans
o Measurement

• Champions the International Process Model (RAPIC) – Ogilvy and Amex adherence to the campaign development process locally, regionally and centrally. Respecting, and acting on, regional client’s role as final approver of all local ATL work

• Financial proficiency and accountability; working with Finance and local Ogilvy offices on the Fee & Production (F&P) breakdown to ensure campaign delivery within budget

• Ensure knowledge transfer and cross fertilisation of best practice, case studies and break thru innovation from other regions across markets
Contribution towards Insights
• Knowledge and understanding of challenges facing the Client’s business in the short to mid-term

• An understanding of the dynamics operating in the primary markets and the consumer’s relationship with the brand – brand positioning, competitors, research, etc

• Always taking a 360 media neutral point of view
